Guys. Enough is enough already. I do not understand why it is felt necessary to keep going on about The Screaming Meemies at the end of what have otherwise been nice posts that I would have liked to answer but couldn't. What is this all about? Do The Meemies really bother you that much?
Normally I wouldn't even consider posting a message of this sort on a public forum but as the issue, whatever the issue actually is, has been raised by Neil on a public forum for the fourth time that I know of, it seems only correct that there is a right to reply as it were.
The first point I would like clarified is if, as stated in the rules that, "The views and opinions expressed within The Shine forum are the views of the individual poster and do not necessarily represent the views of The Shine? So can I take it that this reply should be aimed at Neil and not The Shine? I haven't seen any other inflamatory posts from anyone else?
Going back to the rules, "The Shine will not tolerate ANY defamatory comments made about any other band"... I think that now needs to be edited to exempt Shine band members as apparently the rules do not apply to them?
Comments such as "AND ALL MEEMIES WITH THE EXCEPTION OF MARK AND ADE ARE BANNED FROM SHINYLAND!!!! " and "First to go will be any reference to the Meemies - from now on, the Screaming Meemies are as welcome as herpes!" what is that all about? You have to understand too that  and Mark are Meemies, if you attack the band then you are also having a go at us, resulting in bad feeling all around for no real reason.
Don't get me wrong, anything which creates interest in The Meemies, for The Shine's forum visitors, is good for The Meemies, but perhaps you could go a little step further and do it as a link to www.thescreamingmeemies.co.uk in future?
Fortunately, at the moment, there are very few visitors to this forum to read the comments made. This is actually perhaps unfortunate for The Meemies as I'm sure readers would become interested in the band that The Shine have a hang up with. However, it is possibly fortunate for The Shine in that there is time for all the comments made to be removed before new visitors leave with an unrepresentative view of The Shine and what they are about. You are a band for goodness sakes, just as The Meemies are, but the big difference here is that The Meemies have never said anything publicly detremental about The Shine. Have you even considered how an onlooker will view all this?
There has never been any feeling of ill will from The Meemies towards The Shine until recently when these posts and comments started to appear out of the blue. Hopefully in time this whole sorry situation can be laid to rest and we can all at least agree to just get on, even if it is at arms length.
Finally, on a more personal note from myself. I read the recent comment about my make up picture from Neil which read, "Now, Mark, if you'd dressed like this on stage rather than just in your own bedroom, we'd never have fired you from The Shine!! I thought at first that it was just a bit of a laugh. However, with the continued animosity towards all things Meemie I am now not so sure. Therefore I would ask that the post in question is either edited to show the true situation, that I left The Shine, rather than the other way around, or removed totally... I am after all a Meemie so perhaps removal of the whole thread is the way to go.
To  art, I am sure you will enjoy playing with The Shine, it can be a lot of fun when the focus is on the music, good luck. I will also assume that I am no longer required for Behind The Wall on the 21st December. If this is not the case, then get grovelling

I think a certain Shiney (not mentioning any names Neil) has been winding you up Mark. I want to put a couple of things straight, there was an issue with The Meemies in the fact that it created a clash of loyalty and there were some actions that were unsavory in regards to the Burgh and PJ's. Now there is no divided loyalty and therefore no longer an issue. You are just another competitor, end of
We respect your decision to leave and I belive the whole thing has been done up to this point with allot of dignity and us all staying mates. Let us keep it this way and on this note drag your sorry ass up here Mackie and set this straight. Let's clear the decks, put this issue to bed and get on with flirting with pretty punters, playing great music and being the finest damn Rock band in scotland.
art is a stunning player and the band will change, just like it did when Mark joined, and for the record Mark you have been 25% of the reason we have got this far so let's stop the bickering. If anyone has a problem with this post please phone me as this kind of onine tat for tat is destructive and really pisses me off!!!!!

I think I've said sorry in every thread now. Again, for the record, malice was not intended.
As Andy pointed out, there was a very serious issue with Burgh and PJ's - really nice payback for the two venues I actually physically set up and negotiated for the Meemies! Thanks guys.... That said, I agree, water under the bridge. My gripe is with Tim and the distrust may well remain. I've always said Mark and are top blokes and I continue to think this.
Anyway, enough. This thread is now dead!
