Re: Gig In The Glen, Dunfermline - 19.8.06
It's a gig, in the glen (valley is the english translation) in Dunfermline, which is where Neil works and where we reherse and it's a festival style thing in August that we headlined last year. Send me your postal address as a private message, and I can send you a copy of the official shiney dvd, filmed by my daughter, warts and all!! :drummer:

Always take the weather with you?
Yeah I remember now, the rain was coming down like an incontinant elephants pish, now what were we wearing... oh yeah T Shirts and jeans cos it was sunny during the half hour when we arrived... and there was at least an inch of standing water on the stage... and we were using 240 volts through all this, we were feckin soaked and bloody miserable... but we rocked... is that the same gig?

Re: Gig In The Glen, Dunfermline - 19.8.06
Just to lay some ghosts to rest...
1) Iain gave a pretty good summary of what and where Gig In The Glen is...
2) Mark - we were NEVER miserable, we were hyped up to the gunnels!! Who needs drugs!!
3) The was certainly a fear of 240 volts up the trouser leg.
4) Iain, I've got said address....
5) This year, forgot to mention, Bruce Watson's new band is half ex-Big Country, half ex-Simple Minds (the ones without the egos!)
6) Where does The Shine fit in? At the moment, somewhere around tea time... But that may change! It's tough trying to accomodate everyone and this year I'm trying to get a kind of structure.
Oh, I watched the entire Gig In The Glen DVD last night with a couple of very nice and very large Drambuies!! All I can say is we ****ING ROCK!!! Mark's right, I think this was about his second gig with us but by God were we good!! The bird dancing in the vest top also REALLY worked for me!!
I still reckon, two more original tracks for this year - that way we further differentiate ourselves from Meemies and Soul Inferno...

Re: Gig In The Glen, Dunfermline - 19.8.06
Well... this is what I think... the girlie with the top and the sexy movin ass, really nice... but possibly jailbait dude! I say get them a bit older when they know what they're doing!
Originals, why not, but not too many. I have a couple more I could let you listen to which I'm sure you would appreciate but they are not for the public arena
We did rock, and okay there wasn't real misery, it was just a bit cold and wet, well soaking wet... but wasn't it cool that so many people stayed to the end, even if they were hiding in the beer tent!

That made the whole experience worth it, so it did! But he was right... we should get that on the website somewhere...

Re: Gig In The Glen, Dunfermline - 19.8.06
I have made an executive decision and removed the last 3 posts for the following reasons.
I don't think it's appropriate to be attacking another band on what is after all another bands forum.
The issues here are of a personal nature and not related to the bands performance.
A reference to the band in questions initials has been misunderstood as a remark made against a band member who's name unfortunately is spelt the same, which was not the case.
This Admins of this forum have no wish to be sued for allowing slander.
Lastly, music preference is an individuals choice, and I would like to be as busy as the band in question and taking the kind of money they can ask for.
