In denial
you pull me close then push me away,
I know in my heart it shouldn't be this way,
when the sun rises you pull from me,
worry on your face looking guilty,
its not a crime to kiss me, or to hold my hand,
neither of us push it, neither of us demand,
you give me sweet soft kisses in the night,
you hold me safe and warm, and tight,
I know your scared not ready yet to try and face,
the reality of what we do, you think it will be a disgrace,
so I let you hold me and patiently wait for the time,
when you push me away not wanting to be mine,
but listen to me clearly try to understand, the lies you hide,
will come back to haunt you, they wont be pushed aside,
maybe I should pull away deny you my loving touch,
would you begin to realise you don't need me that much,
I watch your life as you pretend and I wait for the downwards spiral,
for I know that when you look at me, you my friend are in denial.

When I read this, the words became pictures and i could see 2 people in love.One afraid of what others thought, the other unafraid and wanting to tell the world.
