Sun and Moon
A pale shining empty moon, lighting up the night,
always so cold and empty, unmovable and bright,
You are the moon, that appears in the dark, empty and hard,
to cause pain and hurt, make me bloody and torn,
the light of the moon reflects on my face,
as your cold hard touch, makes me never forget,
that whilst the moon still rises, when darkness falls,
you will be there, with much pain and hurt to cause,
so no sleep will come, whilst I sleep alone, with the moon above,
as you have become the moon to me, so empty of any love,
so I will fear the moon, for the longest time, as it is all you ever are to me,
maybe one day I will look at the moon, your face I will no longer see
But even the moon isn't endless, and neither are you,
the sun soon rises, out shining everything you do,
and as the sun shines down on my cold scarred skin,
I feel the warmth as it caresses me, from deep within,
and he is that to me, the bright shining sun, to hold me tight,
to chase away the fear you cause, even in the cold night,
for the first time, when the moon highlights the scars you made,
I don't have to wait till morning, to feel that warmth to make me feel safe,
his words and soul chase away the darkness you can cause,
he has shown me so much, but mostly just how it feels to be loved,
The sun and moon exist together, warmth and cold alike,
even though only one can light up the skies, to most souls alive,
both live on in me, and I have to believe that will be alright,
at least the sun can calm my fear, of the dark and endless night.
--- And I don't want the world to see me
'Cause I don't think that they'd understand
When everything's made to be broken
I just want you to know who I am

Re: Sun and Moon
A shame that something so inherently beautiful can be made terrible by association. This is a beautiful poem, Mark. Beautiful words I wish you did not have to write.
My favorite line is:
"at least the sun can calm my fear, of the dark and endless night. "
*smiles* One nice thing about the sun--will always be there for you, until the end of time. Always and forever.
--- And by and by my Soul returned to me, And answered "I Myself amd Heav'n and Hell"
