Trying Again
When you fail,
Or come up to short on another’s scale.
When you have been proven wrong,
Or feel like you don’t seem to belong.
They say you should still stand tall,
And get back up after each fall.
Because I heard there is no better advice then,
Try, try, and try again.
Practice makes perfect and not only brings the desired effect,
But impatience, frustration, and self-disrespect.
After each fall we are left to suffer,
The bruises and beatings that are supposed to make us tougher.
With each wound that is left to bleed,
There will be another chance for infection to breed.
With each try and failure there is one more scar then you had to start,
Not only to scar your skin but your confidence and heart.
In the end is the outcome worth the fight?
Does the burn of the fire surpass the light?
Does the joy of love and comfort of devotion,
Outweight the pain of the heart and after emotion?
Is life itself the most valuable of all things?..
When the end it will be death that it brings?
Does a better result always turn out from trying?
Or is it just what everyone was implying?

--- Good-bye cruel world
I'm leaving you today
Good-bye Good-bye Good-bye
Good-bye all you people

Re: Trying Again
Despite my tendency to have frequent bouts of pessimism and despair, I have to believe that the light of the fire surpasses the burn. The thought that somehow remains resilient within me is that one moment of love is worth all the moments of pain and that when you are knocked on your ass, you need to get up on your feet and give it another go. Well, that is how my head is at this second. Give me a few minutes and it will change.
This is a good poem, very good. My favorite lines:
With each try and failure there is one more scar then you had to start,
Not only to scar your skin but your confidence and heart.
and...
Does the burn of the fire surpass the light?
--- And by and by my Soul returned to me, And answered "I Myself amd Heav'n and Hell"
