Into The Pit
With every thought I fall deeper into this pit.
Clambering and clamoring to get out.
Pulling life down upon me clump by clump.
Digging nails deep into its surface.
Scrambling for purchase in life's flesh.
Trying to pull myself out of this death.
Dank and dark it presses on me.
Sufocating me with its cold embrace.
Life's slippery grasp losing me.
Buried beneath helpless thoughts.
No life line in the dark to seek.
Only death pressing ever closer.
