too full of tears to speak my mind
full of thoughts that break my heart
of this and then and all thats not
heard words of love with it's sweet promise
so sweet it filled my heart with joy
then filled it with sad melancholy
closed sad eyes to thoughts of this
and smiled misty tears for show
cried silent in my aching heart
of sweet promises that will not be
and in my mind I saw it all
of what will be in time for me
an endless aching lonely road
of sweet promises that are not mine
and were never mine to share
walk hand in hand with loneliness
and take me to my life's ending
peace be to me and all my woes
and take my endless heartache
