Tears don’t fall anymore
The pain is numbed
As the screaming inside my head
Drowns out background noise
I realise I have forgotten
How to feel
It was easier that way
Easier to cope
I didn’t have to feel
What little dignity I had left
Be shredded to pieces
In front of my eyes
No emotions on the surface
Keep them within
Hide them from nobody
For another day
Just waiting, hoping
For someone who will see
Beyond the outside
Tears don’t fall anymore
They had to stop long ago
When I realised
The only way to end the pain
Was not to feel it
