Mirror
Her eyes burn,
As each fiery tear slips down her pale cheek.
Each bead of water,
Reminding her of each person she had lost,
And all the loneliness she had gained.
Her gasping sobs,
Slowly ripping from her lungs and out her mouth,
Expressing all the pain that she is feeling.
Her shaking hands,
Formed as fists,
Trying to squeeze away all the memories that she can no longer share.
Her bleeding palms,
Dripping hot tears of love on the floor,
The love that was wasted.
Her image disappearing,
As I finally finish putting on my face,
And I head out for another day in the world,
Only showing people who I’m not.
I can no longer see the mirror that reflects my true self.
