Dream Fan Letter #1 - Offensive Sitcom!
Well,
It's really difficult for me to choose *which* dream I want to worship first, but I'm going with "Offensive Sitcom" for starters.
Why? I'll tell you.
The thing you mentioned at the end of the "sitcom" where the junkies are frozen, mid-kung-fu, and the credits should be rolling, but they don't, it's just still for a really long time?
I got chills when I read that because I've had something similar happen in a few of my dreams. I like to call it "evil tv syndrome". Television as a menacing presence.
For example, when I was really little, I remember dreaming that I was watching Sesame Street and for some reason Big Bird got really close to the camera, his whole head began to fill the screen, and then finally he got so close that his giant head blacked out the screen. Really freaked me, though I can't say why, exactly.
Televisions usually symbolize unease in my dreams; static-filled, suddenly going black, montages of eerie footage. A television is usually a harbinger of bad things to come in my dreams.
Anyway, enough about that. The line; "Dude, I never said I could play" sends me every time. So funny! And the fat Beavis and Butthead ladies? Classic!
Plus the visuals you described where Cloak climbs in and out of different comic panels were rich with flava'. I could really "see" the whole thing, so it was an incredibly juicy description.
I think I'm a little jealous of your nonsensical dream-trace, dude. And this is coming from a chick who suddenly blurts out things in her sleep like; "Figures she'd f**ing have arrows!"
I'm going to pore over a few more dreams so I can get more detailed and, well, coherent, but the title of that one had an instant mnemonic effect, so I had to share.
Cheers!
