 2nd Annual "Go Topless" Day - Aug 23, 2009
The 2nd annual "Go Topless" day will be on Sunday, August 23, 2009. The organisers' website http://www.gotopless.org/ states that events are planned in:
New York, NY
Venice Beach, CA
Chicago, IL
Miami Beach, FL
Columbus, OH
Portland, OR
Maui, HI
What will you be doing on this day? Anyone planning to attend one of these events?

TERA reported that Cassidy Nicosia was a arrested for being topfree in Keene NH on the 23rd. I did find a youtube link to the arrest here:

She was released with a summons to appear Sept. 9 at Keene District Court for arraignment.

She would not have been breaking the laws of the State of Maine, and someone noted that she would not have been violating the laws of the State of Vermont. Did she really violate any New Hampshire law, or was did the police make some strained interpretation of disorderly conduct or indecent exposure laws? Does she have a lawyer? I would guess that some lawyer would take the case pro bono and he would be rewarded with publicity, especially if he won the case.

I looked at the TERA (Topfree Equal Rights Association) website (www.tera.ca) and it said that TERA was involved in her defense.

It's very unfortunate that this was organized by a UFO cult. TERA seems to object to news coverage pointing that out, but I don't think it can really be ignored. After watching some of the videos, I get the impression that most (though probably not all) of the topless women at these events were in fact Raëlians, based on the matching outfits. And I'm afraid I got a kind of cult-ish from the whole scene, and I'd be willing to bet those fliers they are seen handing out contained at least some mention of the Raëlian religion.
It makes entire event looks like a publicity stunt. Whether that's all it is, or the Raëlians really do care about topfree equality, I have no idea, but the message is much harder to take seriously with them behind it.
