Why do activists always fail to mention the benefits of topfreedom?
Has anyone else noticed how protests and websites always state how women should have the same right to expose their upper torso as men, but never mention any of the actual benefits of topfreedom?
Obviously, if our society didn't censor breasts and thus seeing breasts all over was commonplace, breasts wouldn't be so much of a rare special treat to people, and women would get a lot less objectification and harassment about them, but a lot of people don't seem to realize any of this, and just think topfreedom is a petty, meaningless issue...
Have you ever seen any protesters or activist websites bring any of this up? I think www.tera.ca's mission statement (which is pretty well hidden) is the only place I've ever found any mention of topfreedom's actual societal benefits...
Why don't people talk of them? It might make the fight a lot easier.

I think it's analogous to the "legalize it" argument for drugs...the U.S. populace at least just isn't real receptive to it.
