Interesting development in my marriage, at least as far as this discussion is involved. My wife and I are going through a rough place in our marriage, right now. Mostly finances, kid stress, that type of thing. I think we'll get through it.
However, the other night, as I was heading over to have a drink with friends, she asked me not to sleep with my girlfriend. I asked if this was a permenant change. She said no. But she did say if "you and I aren't getting along, I don't want you getting along with someone else." I readily agreed.
Now, the point to this is not to air my dirty laundry, or commiserate with like minded friends. The point, really, is to show that an "open marriage" is primarily a "marriage." My highest priorities are raising my kids and taking care of my family. Including my wife, whom I love deeply. So, when necessary, the "open" part can go out the window. It's nice, even wonderful, at times. But, if the "open" part ever conflicts with the "marriage" part, marriage will always win out.

here you are equating sex with love...and in a open marriage the sex is..sex...you had a girlfreind and your wife knew about it??? and things were tough??? hmm i can see why your name is danglin..your marraige is danglin

My fiance and I swapped with our best friends recently, but it was as a foursome. It was great fun, and I'm sure we'll do it again. I could never agree to an open marriage, though, and my fiance is in complete agreement with me.
