Re: california beachs

Try the north end of Muir Beach in Marin County, best nude beach around.

Re: california beachs

I took some time off for a beach trip last week to relax, get some sun and work on some tan lines. The coastal California weather has been on the cool side it seems like for most of the summer so far (temps have been mostly in the 60's and occasionally in the low 70's, even in SoCal).

Spent two weekdays at Seabright beach in Santa Cruz; one on the first day of my trip and one on the last day. Seabright is the next beach south of the the main Santa Cruz boardwalk beach. The first day was cool,
a little breezy and the warming sun did not make an appearance until about 1:00. Not very many people out at the beach this day. The second day was bright and sunny and it was hot by noon. I actually got some blisters on the tops of my feet where they were touching the sand when laying down (that's never happened before). Spent both days in a small "g". Saw no other thongs or other minimal swimwear. There was one girl not too far away in a rio back suit who went topless for a little while. The Santa Cruz beach patrol drove by a couple of times. Once after he had driven by in front of me, I turned over about 5 minutes later and saw that he had parked about 20 yds behind me and had his binoculars pointed in my direction; but there were not any hassles - so no worries!(same with the lifeguards) It has probably been 10 years or more since I have gone to this beach. It is about an extra 1/2 hour drive (and I don't have to deal with the Hwy 17 traffic) over where I normally go to the beach in San Francisco or south of Pacifica. Some people on other threads have said this is a good beach for thonging and topless. Probably more people are out on the weekends. Obviously the Santa Cruz police don't have any objections though. All-in-all, I really enjoyed this beach, and am planning on making it back again several more times this summer.

Left the beach a little after 5:00 and was feeling a little scuzzy from the sweat, oil and sand grit, so I stopped by the local 24hr Fitness (about a 1/2 mile away)for a shower to clean up. Then it was off to Manuel's near Seacliff beach for some margaritas again. Manuels is a nice little hole-in-the wall place, and a good way to end the day.

After the first day of my trip at Seabright, I had planned on visiting a friend in Carmel Valley and then going to a beach the next day somewhere south along costal Hwy 1. Since it had been so cold in Santa Cruz,I decided to instead head south to Venice beach for several more days of sun, and hopefully some warmer weather. It was not to be. Venice was colder and more overcast than Santa Cruz. Stayed there three days. One day when by 1:00 the sun was still not out and the cool onshore winds still strong, I looked up the costal satellite image on my phone, and saw that it was at least sunny and not overcast in Long Beach. Then checked the surf report and found that it was not as windy there either, so I drove down there for what was left of the day (about 40 min).

Venice was a disappointment this visit. Usually this is my favorite California beach to go to. Besides being cold and windy, I saw no other thongers at all from where I spent my time each day; but I didn't go for long walks along the beach either. I usually go somewhere between the Galleon and Ketch lifeguard towers. occasionally I will go even farther south along the beach towards Marina del Rey. One day 2 girls and 1 guy setup close by and one of the girls went topless, but that was it for anyone else in minimal swimwear. I guess it was just too cold for the locals to come out. The best part about the time spent at Venice was again hitting Baja Cantina on Washington Blvd.(2 blocks from the beach) for margaritas at the end of the day.

I had never been to Long Beach to thong, but a post in another thread had said the beach next to 55th Place, was an awesome place to go and they had been thonging there for almost 2 years. The beach just south of 55th has homes behind it, and the beach just north of 55th is very wide and bordered by the frontage rode. I was there for a few hours on the 3rd and the whole day on July 4th. Both times I saw no one else wearing minimal swimwear. In fairness, there was hardly anyone at either location on the beach. Maybe the locals go to the beach so often they had better places to go and things to do than spend another day at the beach on a holiday. I really liked the beach, but don't know if I would go back. Maybe someone else has some experience going
to the beaches in Long Beach? I was in a "g" the whole time and no problems from the few people who walked by; no one else was even remotely close to where I was, and I wasn't trying to be in an isolated section of the beach. The beach patrol drove by once and I didn't have any problems from them. The lifeguards drove by numerous times and no problems with them either.

I am just hoping it warms up some more at the beach! With all this talk about global warming, it has not been apparent when you need it at California beaches this summer so far. emoticon
