New Jersey and Thong Bikinis
Just letting New Jersey residents know that its not uncommon to see thong bikinis on the beach at Belmar, New Jersey. The percentage of females that wear then are small. But, i do see some everytime i have been at that beach. Lifeguards and beach patrol never say anything to them. So i assume its legal to wear them. Maybe if the percentage was higher i would wear mine but all i can do is hope for the popularity to grow. Thanks Lisa

Hi Lisa,
Belmar is great and you will find increasing numbers of girls with thong bikinis, however, if you want more privacy, the beach at the South end between Belmar and Spring Lake is the place to go to sunbathe as you wish. It is quiet there and you will find more thongs per capita than the rest of Belmar because it is a beach without lifeguards or beach patrol. You are not allowed to swim there but if you desire a dip, then buy a Belmar badge and swim in the guarded areas.
Some of us lay out topless (discreetly- without walking around) without a problem. Try it this summer. The beach is quiet and we welcome more topfree sunbathers-as long as they are smart about it and don't draw too much attention to themselves. Try it you'll like it.

If you want to sunbathe comfortably in your thong, you can also go to one of the non-nude baches at Sandy Hook. I've worn and seen thongs at several of the beaches there. I have seen some discrete topfree use at the "D" area with no hassles. I've heard that some areas near Atlantic City are okay, Wildwood is supposed to be okay, and probably also Higbee (near Cape May).

I'm a South Jersey guy, and as far as I know, Higbee is no longer nude. People have been arrested and fined for pushing the envelope there.
I've never worn thongs to A.C. or Wildwood, but have worn bikinis to both. At both places, it depends where you go. Sometimes people are totally accepting, other times they are not.
I've seen limited topfree in AC and Wildwood, usually away from the crowd on a secluded beach.

This weekend, I was in AC and Wildwood. I saw bikinis in Wildwood on Saturday...nothing in AC, it was too cold on Thursday and Friday.
Anyone get a chance to go thonging at the Jersey Shore this weekend? I was dying...I didn't have my bikini suits with me.
Any thong/small bikini wearers for S. Jersey around???

I'm a thong wearer - love them. I know this is an old msg but I would love to find some beaches where I can work on getting a thong tanline. Problen is - I'm a guy and that's a head turner - I'm hetero so it shouldn't mattter. I* need to find a woman who would be interested in thonging it with me.

I may be on the beach this summer in Atlantic City or Wildwood. Does anyone know some good places in either city? Anyone else go to AC or Wildwood wearing minimal swimsuits?

You know I was down at Wildwood Crest a few years ago and I saw a woman in a thong with a great ass - I totally noticed because I think thongs are sooooo sexy. A lot of other people didn't even seem to care.

Thongs are well accepted in Atlantic City. I go there often and see them all the time including some very tiny ones and a few on men.
About the minimal swimsuits question.. attitudes in Atlantic City have changed greatly for the better in recent years including the attitude of the beach patrol. Atlantic City is a city in transition and they now promote the city as an international vacation destination rather than just a place for locals to ride a bus and gamble. As a result more European people have been coming and the beach patrol understands and accommodates their normal way of sunbathing. Topfree and thongs are more common and the people next to you might not be local and wouldn't consider your thong to be very unusual anyway. Last year I posted some Atlantic City topfree information into a topic in the destination section titled "Anyone know any beaches in New Jersey where the beach patrol and lifeguards accept topfreedom?". I mentioned that I prefer the beach at New York Avenue for topfreedom. I believe that this section is perhaps the most accepting and practiced part of the beach for minimal beach wear and I never had any problem with being topfree here. So I've pretty much stuck with New York Avenue for topfree in Atlantic City. But I would not hesitate to wear a thong wherever you feel like it on the beach. I have seen it all over.

Yes, Sandy Hook is fine for discrete topless. I've been topfree on the bayside and at most of the other areas except for Area D, which has the restaurant and is filled with kids. Gunnison is fine, but its a long walk from the parking lot to the water, so when I go in late afternoon on a weekday, I go to E or Horseshoe cove.
By the way, I don't even own a bikini bottom - only thongs, and never, ever, wear a top. I've never had a complaint about either.
