The Teenaliban are the only ones who feel compelled to open their mouths and make clear their opposition to everything, no matter how inappropriate the time or place.
I remember being a little like that at one stage in my life too...
As for 25%, I'm trying my hardest to stay tanned, toned, and hairfree to be comfortable enough to wear thongs on public beaches, while attracting a minimum of critisism. I KNOW most people don't like them, but there's still another 300 degrees on any compass that they can look and NOT see me!
There's plenty of overwieght hairy blokes on the beach in boardshorts that look worse than I do in my thong.

I was out on the bicycle about 12 km from home. Unfortunately went through some broken glass and had two flat tyres. As I had only one spare tube and no money, it was going to be a long walk carrying the bike home. Fortunately I did have a small towel and g-string (light weight when cycling is important !), so I thought I would make it less boring by walking beside the bay (Botany Bay for anyone who knows Sydney) and having a dip at each of the five swimming enclosures along the way. Hence the opportunity for an impromptu survey.

I did not see another thong or g-string, though there were a few guys in speedos. It was also disappointing that there was only one topfree female. Thinking back to how it was 10 years ago, the change is amazing. On the plus side, although everybody looked, nobody seemed too concerned about what I was wearing, even after the last swim when I had a shower adjacent to the car park. I guess being a Monday, the usual suspects were in school.

For this part of Sydney anyway, and I expect most of Australia, wearing a thong is acceptable, but expect to be noticed as you may be the only one. Some may even like this. emoticon

Cheers,
Graeme

There is always somebody suggesting that this or that is the wrong thing to wear, if you want to look fashionable in their eyes.

I am not interested in looking good to someone who's looking backward.

The same people who like to point out the fashion side of the argument don't have the courage to thong themselves, least they be taught unfashionable.

Most of these people don't even have the courage to make their own argument, but instead stage their argument as a 'quote' or 'opinion' by some one else; as in this case.

Fashion is not what everyone else is doing, real fashion is doing something unique and different, so the wearer stands out from the crowed.

People pay thousands of dollars in attempting to purchase individuality to be special by wearing high fashion cloths, instead of spending the effort on their bodies. I don't care what designer label you wear on your beach cloths, a hot body in a thong that fits wins hands down every time.

So ignore the chatterarti and just wear what makes you feel good.

James,
Good advice. I personally don't wear thongs, but what everyone else wears is up to them. If I don't like the way they look in their thongs, I can turn my head.

I don't wear them for a couple of reasons. Number one, considering the part of the country I live in, I would probably be arrested if I wore a thong swimsuit. Number two, I can't imagine how they could be comfortable -- in the back or the front. I bought some bikini underwear to try, and I can't stand them. They're so small in front that they hurt. I don't see how a thong could be any better.

I wish there were more places in the area where I could wear thongs and smaller swimwear. I'm from NJ...not exactly alot of exotic beach locations around here!

I'm a S. Jersey. We have beautiful beaches, and...lucky us...few New Yorkers...but Higbee more or less gone, and there isn't anything else. emoticon

newdguiy,

I can see what you mean about thongs. They arent for everyone. It's an acquired "feel".

Howeve, I am a guy that CAN pull off wearing a thong and actually looking great in one as I have been told I have a chic's ass and legs, nicely shaped and well toned.

But after some time of wearing thongs many years ago and getting used to them I dont own a single pair of regular underwear now. I'm exclusively a thong wearer and nude when I can.

Which chick did you get them from (sorry, one of the oldest one-liners in the world, couldn't resist)? Actually, when I see a guy, I'd prefer to see something that looks like a guy's ass and legs, so if I were a guy I'm not sure I would take this as a compliment. But I'm sure the person who said it meant well.

Unless you're auditioning for a revival of the Rocky Horror Picture Show, you might want to keep that assessment private. Just a tip.
