I noticed there was a discussion thread about 'First time topless' (which makes sense on a Topfree message board!) but thought since there is a Thongs section, we could start a 'First time thonging' thread. So here goes...

Figured I should start with my own experience...
A little background: I'd been wearing thongs as underwear for a couple of years when posts on a thong-oriented message board encouraged me to try tanning in one. So I tried thonging in my Dad's back garden (while he was at work) and sure enough I loved laying under the sun with my cheeks exposed. (Wearing a small tight suit rather than shorts wasn't an issue for me as I've always preferred speedos to shorts due to competitive swimming when I was younger).
I went on holiday with a couple of friends to Mallorca one summer and took a couple of thongs with me, hoping to enjoy more of the sun. Initially I wore them under other suits but for the first couple of days never had the courage to remove the outer suit at the pool or beach.
About the third day of the holiday we were at the beach and rented a pedalo. I'd seen girls at the beach in thongs but no guys so was a little reluctant. Anyway, we went out on the pedalo and I figured I was a safe distance from the crowds. I stripped down to my thong and started to relax, enjoying the sun and dipping into the water for the odd swim. A few other people on pedalos smiled and one lady on a yacht took a photo. The main thing though was that I was enjoying the freedom of it all.
We returned the pedalo when our time was up and I decided not to replace the tight shorts I'd been wearing when we left the beach. Heads turned and I knew people were talking but I didn't care - I was finally able to enjoy just being me.
I spent the rest of the holiday in nothing more than a thong (when at the beach) and felt comfortable showering at the beach side, playing frisbee and paddle ball on the beach, swimming and walking the beach in my thong.
I've never been on holiday since without thonging. I love it!

Hey Teff,
I'm a thong guy like you. I'm straight and I first thonged by myself up on Oval Beach in Saugatuck, Michigan last year. It was pretty cool. Nice to know there's another guy in here who loves to thong.

I too am a straight guy that wears thongs. I only wear them around the house and under my cloths. I haven't worn one in a public place. I love the feel of them. They are so comfortable. My wife hates to wear them and doesn't understand why I like them. Go figure. Thongs make up about half of the underwear that I wear now. I just love the Jockey next to nothing brand.
What kind do you like?

My first time thonging was a couple of years ago. My wife got them for me. At first it was just in the house. But I really liked them a lot. I finally got up the courage to wear one at a beach after having seen some other guys in thongs there. I loved it and now wear them most all the time. Wife likes me in them. She had already been wearing thong panties, but we got her a thong bikini too and now we both wear thongs at the beach - wouldn't have it any other way

No one has added anything in this section for about a month so I thought I would chime in.
I have worn thong underwear and bikini style swimwear for over 10 years.The last time we were in St Martin (2004)my wife and I saw some men on the beach in thongs and I thought that may be cool to try.My wife wore a thong at the beach this trip exclusively.
We have a camp on a lake an hour from our home that we spend lots of time at in the summer.There is a public beach across the bay that we got to frequently.Two summers ago my wife started going there topfree in a thong regularly.(got to the point of not even taking a top with her).I would wear a little bikini(suitsyousexswimwear) and we would spend hours playing in the sand and water with the kids.
We had a weeks holidays at camp that year(2005).During the week its pretty quiet at the lake.The tuesday we were loading up to go to the beach and I decided to put on a thong.My wife and her daughter were wearing pink g strings.We spent a couple of hours over there and had a blast.Another boat pulled up while we were there but no troubles.I spent lots of time playing catch in knee deep water running back and forth.
Our 15 year old boy isn't crazy about the idea(he doesn't like Mom being topfree either).Our 5 year old has grown up a naturist so he doesn't mind.
The next day we went back to the beach again.Same attire.It was great.The feel of the water in a thong is indiscribible.
Since then I have spent some time around camp in a thong,mainly when there isn't a lot of people around.
LAst summer we couldn't get to camp much so I did most of my outside work around the house in a thong.Its been great.
I feed off of my wifes confidence.The more she goes topfree the more comfortable I am in a thong,And I think it works the other way for her too.So with mutual support our neighbours are going to see alot of both of us.

I've benn wearing thong underwear exclusively for nearly ten years now and can't think of more comfortable and sexy underwear. No more creepers! I first tanned outdoors in a thong maybe 8 years ago. I wear my thong mainly at the beach and at the family cabin. However, the only times I've really walked the beach and swam was on 2 vacations to SOBE.

Although I have worn tiny swimwear since my teens, the first time I wore a thong in public was is Kos in the early nineties on a beach that was fairly empty. Most of the women around were topless as was my wife but most men were in normal trunks. I felt somewhat conspicuous especially when the people from our neighbouring apartment came past but they seemed to accept it and after that, I was happy to walk down the beach to swim and back to sunbathe. My wife was a little surprised at how brief my thong was but accepted it when I explained the sense of freedom it gave me. Since then, I have taken at least one thong on holiday each time and sometimes two or three of varying sizes with me and have developed the confidence not only to walk along beaches but also along promenades and into beachside bars and shops. I am really only comfortable now in thongs or in the nude on a sheltered apartment balcony.
