I saw nothing graphic about that report.On the other hand you can turn on any of the CSI shows ans see extremely graphic shots of cut open bodies with no warnings.American tv is really backwards.

While the use of the word *graphic* was of poor taste, and perhaps it was done for sweep week???, I do appreciate that finally a station provided this public service without censor.
The testimony that the woman found a pea size lump under her nipple during her own self examine made the story particularly compelling. As the doc was telling how to do the examine, the woman was an active participant - not so much touching herself, but also talking. The demonstration seemed more real than having a model demonstrate.
As for the woman's breast's being small thus making it acceptable, unless she is lying, she initiated wanting the public to know how to do an examine.

It was a good report, don't care if it was during sweeps week or not. Perhaps some families who watched it and were sensitive about breast exposure before will realize that the world didn't end with this and that perhaps we all need to just take a deep breath and exhale in a controlled fashion...

DC 101.1 had a funny discussion about this the day after it aired. I agreed though. I totally support informing women on the proper way to inspect their breasts. I believe the woman should have been a little larger though, and not for viewing pleasure. The average size in america is about a C. It is definitely different searching around all that tissue and having to manipulate the breast. I believe as a male I have a bigger chest than the woman shown on TV. Kudos to her for having the courage and to the station for displaying her, but they needed women of various sizes or one of the average size.

My perspective still is that the woman who was featured on US TV was courageous to insist that "real" information was given to the US audience.
So what if she is not a C cup? She initiated an authentic breast examine for people to see so that women's lives could and would be saved.

this is kind of off topic, but i'd thought i'd mention it. right now i'm watching a show on "slice" called Plastic Makes Perfect". it's about plastic surgery, and are showing many bare breasts. mostly before and after pictures, and showing women during their consultation with the doctor. this show came on at 6:30pm in newfoundland, which is several hours earlier in most other parts of canada. also, their are no warnings about the bare breasts. they also show some slightly graphic surgery scenes, which probably should have warnings.
