thong leotards?
Was just on business travel in Toronto, Canada, and, when I went to the gym next to my hotel, I was surprised to see two girls on the treadmills in thong leotards. This was a packed gym too. Young girls too, probably college age or maybe a year or two older. I'm wondering if they are coming back in style, because you could tell they weren't old ones borrowed from their moms. The style was much different. They weren't as high cut as the old ones I have.
I was going to ask them where they got them, but, even after 45 mins, these girls were still going strong on the treadmill and I was long done!
Nice to see them (maybe, hopefully) coming back though!

I used to wear them too, but like you haven't seen them for a long time now. I hope they do make a comeback as I enjoyed wearing mine in the gym and other places as well. Mine too, were very high cut.

Yeah, mine were all high cut as well, which I really liked. They made my legs look longer and also worked wonders on my bum!
Looking back, some of the patterns I had were pretty hideous though! Of course I had some fluorescent ones, and some flowery ones, and of course, the black and white vertical striped one. Everyone owned at least one of those!!

I love dressing sexy to the heath club. It's helps getting me going! I used to wear those thong leotards too but dont anymore sence they went out of style. I love wearing a really thin white tank on top with just shorts. I think its easy to work out when your having a little fun showing off at the same time.

I hope they do come back in trend. I haven't worn mine in like 10 years! Some are still pretty new! Like most of the posters above, mine were very high cut. I usually wore them with bike shorts as was the trend, but i sometime wore them with sheer tights or stockings and a few times as is. I haven't really seen them worn to the gym by anyone for quite a while. We should start a movement to bring them back in trend or something!

I'm definitely in for starting a movement to bring them back in. And now might be the time, especially with a lot on 80's style fashions being back in style.
I say we officially make next week Thong Leotard Week. You gotta wear them to the gym, to workout at home, running, or whatever. I'm game if you guys are!

Inspired by your post, I wore one of my thong leotards to the gym this evening. It's a merle grey reebok one - super high cut legs and deep scoop back. I decided to wear it as is without bike shorts or tights. It certainly got a few looks, from the moment i walked out of the change room! - but I think the looks were more positive in nature than 'what on earth are you wearing?'. I spent most of the time on the stepper machine. i think this could catch on!

If it was guys that saw you I've no doubt the looks were of a positive nature! I, for one, definitely hope this trend catches on! [Kudos to you for wearing it 'as is' - wish I coulda been there to see it too!  ]

I just got back from my gym this morning. I wore a thong leotard again to my 'pump' class. A black high cut leg with short white bike shorts! it looked really retro! i dare not wear leg warmers again in public though...
i swear at least 6 women spoke with we mafter the class about the outfit and commented about how they have their old leotards still, but haven't worn them in about 10 years or so! i invited them to bring them out again, and they seemed to be quite happy with the concept and might do it next week i really think this could catch on.
I think it's a style that's over due to come back - and i think with a bit of modernising it can look even hotter!

Hey 'fun'! Pleased to hear you're continuing to have the courage to wear the thong leotards and definitely pleased to hear you might be heading a revival!
As for the leg warmers, why not? If they can get away with it in the Eric Prydz music video, I see no reason why you can't re-introduce those too!
Would love to know (or see!) what you have in mind for the 'bit of modernising [to] make it... even hotter'!
Any thoughts on what you ladies would like to see us guys wearing at the gym?
