Couldn't have put it better myself Jam, total team effort this season which proved to be a double edged sword, no one worthy of league individual awards.
We won the majority of games as a result but sometimes you need an individual with the bat or ball to pull you through and we don't have those players at the moment, we are either too young or long in the tooth with only a few at their peak. Our game at VC was a prime example where Dunny guided the champs home in that crucial fixture.
Three lads did get their first tons and will develop into premier league stars should they stick with it, the bowling youth may take a little longer.
As for the "long in the tooth" lad(s)I couldn't possibly comment!

Well we know its Noddy.......I would have given it to Walls ! its harder to take wickets than score runs.........

I found the PS "Young Player of the Year" Award going to a lad in Division Five a bit strange. There is no doubt he is a very good player scoring 500 runs for Leyland 3rd team in that Division and I wish him well. However, Mark Walling from Garstang scored 380 runs in 16 Innings (Av 31.67) at Premier League level and Captained the Garstang U17 Team that won their competition. Gary Knight at Longridge had a superb season behind the stumps in a team that finished Runners Up in the Premier and won the Meyler Cup.
If Ive missed another junior worthy of mention in the Premier I apoligise but
either of the players mentioned would in my opinion been worthy winners of tis award.
Im not *****ing before anyone jumps down my throat - It is simply my opinion.

Fair play to noddy, cant take anythin away from him, he had a top season, 800+ runs 20 wickets n 15 catches cant ask for much more. I will be back next season older & wiser. there are still a lot of improvements to be made in my game & hopefully having learnt a few lessons this year i can be even stronger next year

Colly If you look carefully at the last (and only?) 3 winners-Tom Foster, Gary Knight and Liam Hurt, they were all Under 15`s at the time they won the award........in addition they all play for Lancs and turn up in their blazers! (which means my lad won`t even be in the mix next year as he`s chosen not to play for Lancs) Maybe somebody from the league could clarify what exactly the age criteria is...?
If it were an under 17/18 award then yes either of the two you mention would deserve it...... !
