Last nights meeting was as mystifying as ever. We spent ages going over rule changes that were inconsequencial and they (initially) dismissed the points suggestion in about 10 seconds, presumably, because awarding 16 points for a win means you can't count the total on the fingers of your hands.

The first option of having bonus for batting and bowling did not initially find a seconder, but strangely, the one to scrap bonuses altogether did!

Credit to Jay from Kirkham though, he later seconded the first proposal, saying clubs needed to look at it closer.

Cheers Jay. It'll get booted on the ballot, but at least hopefully people will have looked at it properly then and hopefully they'll get to see the reasoning that was sent with it.

2009 season Rule Change proposals were issued today.

There are no proposed changes to League matches.

Main discussion points are the proposed re-organising of the Cup competitions and the Sunday League.

6 teams have now applied for Division 6 which could result in additional sides being promoted to Division 5.

Excellent news that last bit. Hopefully they'll fill Div 5 up to the full 12 team quota and leave 8 in Div 6.

Oh hang on, that'll mean we get "promoted". hmm in that case maybe it'll be better as 10 and 10 then! emoticon

My mistake! There's actually 8 teams in Div 5 already. So I'd imagine they'll put the top three (VC WLD and CR) up from div 6 to make an 11 team, 20 game division. The new 6 can then join the remaining 4 in Div six to make a 10 team, 18 game division. you can't really put 12 in Div 5 as that would leave 9 in div six which would only have a 16 game season.
