Rule changes................
.... although it might be frustrating to comply with the ecb directives, that frustration should be balanced against possible long-term health problems for the young people involved

Re: Rule changes.
Long term health problems??
This generation didn't suffer?? The generation developing now is suffering from more health problems sucvh as obesity because of the nanny state we live in.
As a 15 year old I used to play football every night and on a saturday 2 games of football and sometimes a game of rugby too.
The rule and regulations are causing the long term health problems !

Re: Rule changes.
Agree with much of that northernmonkey, they say it puts strain on backs, legs etc but playing sport frequently builds the limb and back muscles. Very few kids at this level put undue stress on their bodies, common sense from Captains is what is required not draconian limits.

Thing that gets me is that say if you are allowed to bowl 6 overs, you are just about getting into your stride and then thats you off for twelve overs. Totally agree with the captains perogative being a better option.

believe the romans didn't go to caton as they considered it, like ireland, to be far too dangerous

Re: Rule changes..........
if these rules had been about in my day, I would have been bullied at 15 rather than now in my mid 30's for being a fatty.
the rules don't make you eat HB but stop you burning off the excess fat. I wasn't eating low fat crisps, coke and bread in those days either. it was full fat everything.
I also sat in smokey rooms, inhaled leaded petrol and visited caton (occasionally) and am still living to tell the tale because I could bowl 15 overs and I could play a full 11 a side for 90 minute
