VW Bug 68 Automatic help
My mother has a 1968 VW Bug--automatic. She's wanting to get it restored, but the auto shop we took the bug to for transmission repair told her that the parts for the 68 automatic aren't available, and that it would have to be changed to a manual.
We are wondering if this is true--are the automatics so unusual that they can no longer be restored? We're hoping to get some feedback from the experts!
