Help: Pushrod So Close???
Does it matter which side of the engine the cylinder heads and/or rocker shafts are installed? Is one left and one right?
I'm now assemblying my '69 bug engine and have the rocker shaft installed on one side and the pushrods seem to be touching the end of the tubes as they enter the head or are extremely close to touching.
This is a stock 1500cc engine with aftermarket two-piece anodized pushrod tubes.
I would think the pushrods should be aligned through the center of their opening in the head so I'm afraid I have the heads on the wrong side but they look the same to me.
Thanks in advance,
Mitch

Re: Help: Pushrod So Close???
No, the heads should be the same, interchangeable.
I'm racking my brain. To me it sounds more rocker arm related, if it is that close.
If the rocker arm shaft mounting studs have a taper to them, be sure you haven't flipped the "blocks" over. Of course, if you did that, it won't let you cinch them all the way down.
