A Suitable Trailer Hitch for Air-cooled Bugs?
Can anybody on this great list tell me how to install a proper trailer hitch on my bug 1994 air-cooled 1600 cc. fuel-injected Mexican Bug? I am assuming that the bumper alone is far too lite. I plan on towing a home-made teardrop trailer, at about 800 pounds total weight, around 80-90 pounds tongue weight. Or maybe there is a ready-made hitch I can buy for this use?
Thanks in advance!
Dr. Steve,
Queretaro, central old Mexico

Re: A Suitable Trailer Hitch for Air-cooled Bugs?
Just so folks do not think that we ignored you, I responded to your webmaster contact email.
The only one I have seen in US for aircooled bugs is the old ones that bolt to the transaxle yoke (frame) (2 bars) and runs under the engine, and also bolts to the bottom of the bumper.
I have only seen used ones. I cannot find any place that sells them (new).
