The covers for New Improved Hippoty Hop Magician
Greetings from Florida! I love Chance Wolf products, and just received my new improved Hippoty Hop Magician effect. Looks even better than the first; a key question however that I can't quite figure out:
The covers have the clever magnets with a dot showing which side to use. In doing a run through with the covers, how is one to manipulate the covers as you go through the routine? Looks like the time you want to do the steal, you have to turn covers around so that dots pick up the shells. I suspect some of us might misuse this a bit and accidentally pick up the shells too early.
Any ideas here...other than buy new glasses!

Re: The covers for New Improved Hippoty Hop Magician
Hi Tom,
I had an afterthought/alternative to the small white dot which is very easy to do at home. Obtain a small brass round head nail from your local hardware supply. As thin and short as possible. Drill a small pilot hole at the top center edge. Carefully nail it in to the top edge.
Now you will know by simply feeling for the bump.
Another note, if you are unsure of which side the magnets are on, you can casually slip your fingertipns inside gripping the covers and actually feel the lump of the magnets. It is subtle but can easily be felt.
Hope this helps and any other ideas are welcome!
Chance

Re: The covers for New Improved Hippoty Hop Magician
Each cover on picks up it's own shell, down to the clever placing of the magnets, I therefore use the shells the other way round, and then when I do the steal I simply move them from one table to the other and do the turn while moving them from one side to the other, as you would do during the normal routine. I find this to be natural and to be honest as long as it is not a blatant move nobody notices. (I use 2 tables for my shows).
Another way is to show the cabinets empty by showing the audience they can see through the cabinets, this will also give you cover for the turn.
I just love the new version!!
Hope that helps a bit!
Marcus

Re: The covers for New Improved Hippoty Hop Magician
I am glad the new improvements will be incorporated into the Micro Hip Hop Magician, IIRC. Though I was comfortable with fingering the shell in my CW Rabbits, I do like the "automatic" feature using magnets.
