| | Personal bio: | I was born in Bethpage, New York (Long Island) on February 23, 1967. My family moved to upstate (Poughkeepsie) New York when I was 6 mos. old, to northeast Virginia, outside Washington DC when I was 3, Los Angeles when I was 6, and later the San Francisco Bay Area when I was 8. And other than my years away at college near Sacramento, I haven't strayed that far from my Bay Area home.
There was always a piano in the house growing up, but never an organ.
In 1982 at the age of 15, I heard "Hush" on the radio for the first time. And that was it....my love of the screaming Hammond took over my life, and so went the conquest to own one.
Finally, in 2001 at the age of 34, I got a real Hammond, and to be able to create that sound without turning on a CD player, is a joy indeed. If it weren't for Deep Purple, I doubt that passion in me would have ever been born. |
