interesting (or maybe typical attempt to discredit TMIB)that he would credit Jon Lord with coming up with the riff for Smoke along with Ritchie?whilst jons hammond had a huge part to play in the strength of the riff he most certainly never came up with it!Once again the world according to Ian Gillan and of course we are still to believe that the audience are typically 18!!He has been saying this for so long now that surely they must be in thier 30s by now!

The interview isnt weird, playing RNR when Gillan comes in is. Is that some sort of conspiracy againts him, or did they just want to tell him that Plant is a better vocalist than he is, but didnt want to do it in his face.

Thats a load of bull, concerning Jon's coming up with anything on Smoke. Probably another attempt to downplay what Blackmore did for DP, but Gillan probably doesnt even realize it when he does it. Old age probably has something to do with it too. Dementia ......

My problem is you MR star and your (bad) attitude concerning anything to do with Ian Gillan. Nothing more than that, if you call that to be a weirdo or hairdo or what ever, well what is you then...?

The DP history is known well enough to be sure that noone else but Ritchie Blackmore invented the riff to Smoke On The Water. Jon Lord admits himself that Blackmore played a central role in the songwriting process.
And nobody knows as well how much Jon Lord was involved in things as Jon Lord himself.

Well, if the audience is typically 18 for a long time, it means that the people just go to see DP for a few years. As soon as they've turned 23 or something like that, they stop seeing them. And probably they have their reasons ...
